Iowa hosted the third White House Regional Forum on Health Reform. The event was moderated by Iowa Governor Chet Culver, South Dakota Governor Mike Rounds, Iowa Senator Tom Harkin, and Director of the White House Office of Health Reform, Nancy-Ann DeParle.

The forum gave audience members the opportunity to talk about their own experiences with the health system and pose questions to the group.
The event was co-moderated by (from left to right) Governor Rounds, Nancy-Ann DeParle, Governor Culver, and Senator Harkin.
Senator Harkin listens to an audience member ask a question. During his closing remarks, Senator Harkin said of health care reform: “We are not going to kick the ball down the field. This is going to happen this year.”
Iowa Congressman Boswell thanks participants for joining the discussion on health reform.
President Obama thanks the crowd of 500 for their participation in the forum. In his remarks he told the crowd that “few challenges we face are as complex and as consequential as fixing our health system. That’s why reforming health care is a top priority for my administration.”
