On March 31st Greensboro, North Carolina hosted the fourth in a series of five White House Regional Forums. Prior to the event, Nancy-Ann DeParle, Director of the White House Office of Health Reform, toured a local community health clinic.

More than 700 North Carolinians gathered at North Carolina State A&T University for the White House Forum on Health Reform.
Dr. Bill Roper, Dean of the University Of North Carolina School Of Medicine, commented that “we’ve got to find a way to do this smartly.” Dr. Roper said “I believe we are for the first time in a long time coming together in the middle of the political spectrum to do some sensible things that long have needed to be done.”

DeParle said rising health care costs are forcing families across America to make impossible choices, and that is why President Obama believes we have to come to a solution this year that will ease the stress that businesses and families are under.
